Librarians' Literary Lectures

Frances Hardinge - Tuesday 26th January 2016

  • Our most recent lecture was held in January when we welcomed Frances Hardinge, a fantasy writer who has an incredibly vivid imagination
  • Frances grew up in Kent, living in a huge, isolated hill-top house that ‘wuthered’ when the wind blew and inspired her to write strange, magical stories from a young age.
  • Her most recent book, ‘The Lie Tree’ has won her the Costa Book of the Year 2015 and is on the shortlist for the Carnegie Prize, shortly to be announced.
  • We were privileged to have such an esteemed author as Frances Hardinge visit St Catherine’s and share her writing journey with us. All who heard her lecture went away inspired.
